I suspect Dyslexia or a specific learning disability. How do I make an appointment with the Chattanooga Dyslexia Center?
An evaluation through our Dyslexia Center involves three testing appointments. The psychologist evaluates the client's cognitive and academic abilities over two sessions that are approximately 90-minutes in length. Observational checklists are also completed by family members and teachers as appropriate.
The Speech-Language Pathologist completes the third session that is approximately 90- 120 minutes in length. In-depth and standardized assessments provide crucial information about their phonological awareness, reading fluency, reading comprehension, and language/ auditory processing abilities. A one-hour post evaluation conference is held shortly following the completion of all three testing sessions in order to discuss the results and treatment recommendations.
Do you see clients outside of the clinic?
