The Story of SLR Center

We were formed from the highly successful practice known as Associates in Communication Therapies, PC founded by Marcia Jenison in 1984. Mrs. Jenison’s practice emphasized professionalism, integrity, honesty and respect for children with speech, language, swallowing and reading deficits in the Chattanooga area. We changed the name in February 2006 to more accurately describe the nature of our services but we continue to maintain those same high standards at the SLR Center.

“We came to the SLR Center discouraged about our daughter’s reading progression but are so pleased now with the progress she has made in just a few months. She is actually choosing to read on her own now.”
