“ I cannot express enough how grateful I am to the staff of SLRC. Mrs. Rebecca has been a God send blessing to our family! Every week at our visits we are made to feel welcome and at home. My son has made tremendous improvements during our time at SLRC. I have recommended SLRC to every person that I know that has a child that struggles.”

An evaluation through our Dyslexia Center involves three testing appointments. The psychologist evaluates the client's cognitive and academic abilities over two sessions that are approximately 90-minutes in length. Observational checklists are also completed by family members and teachers as appropriate.
The Speech-Language Pathologist completes the third session that is approximately 90- 120 minutes in length. In-depth and standardized assessments provide crucial information about their phonological awareness, reading fluency, reading comprehension, and language/ auditory processing abilities. A one-hour post-evaluation conference is held shortly following the completion of all three testing sessions in order to discuss the results and treatment recommendations. A post evaluation conference is typically held 2-3 weeks following.
